I have an essay up about the first chapter of the book Men, Women, and Chainsaws: Gender in the Modern Horror Film (Carol J. Clover) posted over at Planet Fury, a website devoted to all things genre movie related (formerly Pretty Scary and Fangirltastic). I just talk about the first chapter, which is basically a Freudian reading of slasher films. If this kinda shit sounds boring, keep in mind that there are plenty of smartass asides. If you find smartass asides annoying and off-putting, keep in mind that there is plenty of Freudian deconstruction (kinda sorta maybe). Well, here is the link.
